Steve Warren, the local sheriff, is on a mission to capture the outlaw gang holding up stages on Nora Reed's line. After capturing Nora's brother Frank, who's also a gang member, he's accused of Frank's murder by crooked lawyer Garvey Yager and surveyor Alfred Murdock, who are actually the gang leaders.
