The Durango Kid, aka Steve Reynolds, a Dakota Indian Agent, learns about a series of gold mine raids and decides to investigate, as his alter ego is being blamed for the crimes. He heads to Bonanza City, where he discovers a plot by his business partner Rance Hudson to rob a wagon train and frame the Durango Kid.

Dakota Indian Agent Steve Reynolds, also known as the Durango Kid, and his pal Smiley travel to Bonanza City to investigate a series of gold mine raids, sparked by a newspaper article that wrongly accuses the Durango Kid of the crimes.
