Tyler C. Peterson, a multifaceted creative force, is renowned for his work as Writer/Director of captivating short films such as Copper & Wool and Summer Hill, in addition to being the visionary founder of Lux Daze Media.
Born and raised in rural Maryland, Tyler's educational journey took him to Towson University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in film and cultivated a keen sense of curiosity about the film industry. Upon graduating, he relocated to Baltimore, where he began to explore his artistic voice as a Writer/Director and to discover and embrace his queer identity.
With a deep-seated passion for creating projects that prioritize diversity, both in front of and behind the camera, Tyler founded Lux Daze Media in 2015. This innovative production company has since become a hub for creative expression and a platform for promoting underrepresented voices.
Tyler's latest short film, Summer Hill, premiered at the sold-out Lux Daze Media Showcase, where he was also announced as a Co-Producer on the feature documentary Mom & M. Summer Hill has received widespread acclaim, taking home top honors at the North Beach American Film Festival 2019, including Best Narrative Short, as well as the Audience Choice Award for Narrative Short at the Cecil County Film Festival 2019. The film has also been screened at nine festivals, cementing its status as a standout in the world of independent cinema.
In addition to his work on Summer Hill, Tyler has also received recognition for his involvement in Mom & M, a feature documentary that has garnered multiple awards and has been screened at over ten festivals, including the prestigious Maryland Film Festival 2021 and Geena Davis' Bentonville Film Festival 2021.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Tyler is busy developing Summer Hill into a feature-length film, collaborating with co-writer Amanda Ferrarese on this exciting new project. He is also actively promoting his latest directorial endeavor, Copper & Wool, a captivating improvised 16mm short film that showcases his unique creative vision.
