Odile Versois, born Étiennette de Poliakoff-Baydaroff on June 15, 1930, was a French actress who embarked on a prolific career in film and television, appearing in 47 productions between 1948 and 1980. A member of a family with a rich cultural heritage, Versois was the sister of renowned actresses Marina Vlady, Hélène Vallier, and Olga Baïdar-Poliakoff. Their father, Vladimir, a celebrated opera singer of Russian descent, and mother, Militza Envald Voropanoff, a dancer, instilled in Odile a deep appreciation for the arts from a young age.
As a child, Odile began acting and even pursued a career in ballet for a while, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her craft. Her personal life was marked by two marriages, the first to actor Jacques René Dacqmine in 1951, which ended in divorce a year later. She then married Comte François Reynier Ambroise Henri Pozzo di Borgo in 1953, with whom she had four children, but this union also ended in divorce.
Tragically, Odile Versois passed away on June 23, 1980, in Paris, at the age of 50, due to cancer.
