Magnus Gösta Gertten, a Swedish documentary film director, producer, and screenwriter, was born on December 6, 1953, in Limhamn, Sweden. He is the brother of renowned documentary filmmaker Fredrik Gertten.
In his formative years, Gertten was an integral part of the rock band Sieben Slips, showcasing his creative talents in the music world. Prior to pursuing a career in filmmaking, he worked extensively as a television and radio journalist for several years.
Gertten's transition to filmmaking occurred in 1998, marking the beginning of his illustrious career in the industry. Throughout his career, he has produced a total of 15 documentaries for both Swedish and international television, which have been broadcast and showcased at numerous film festivals across more than 60 countries. His remarkable work has garnered widespread recognition and numerous accolades.
Currently, Gertten works as a director, producer, narrative consultant, and adviser for his esteemed film production company, Auto Images.
