Lowam Eyasu, a tenacious and confident actor, embarked on a remarkable journey at the tender age of two when she, along with her parents and siblings, immigrated from Eritrea to Barstow, California. This significant move marked the beginning of her life in the United States, shaping her future and influencing her passions.
As she grew older, Lowam's fascination with television and entertainment only intensified. At the age of 17, she enrolled at California State University Long Beach, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in performance. Her academic journey was further enriched by her studies under the guidance of renowned experts Jeff Perry and Alexander Billings at Steppenwolf Theatre West, where she honed her skills in viewpoints.
However, Lowam's passion for acting soon evolved into a desire to write and produce her own content. At a relatively young age, she left college to pursue her career in the entertainment industry. Her early experiences in Los Angeles and New York City revealed a disturbing lack of representation for individuals like herself and women of color. This realization sparked a fire within Lowam, leading her to co-found the production company VKTRY Creative with two childhood friends.
VKTRY Creative is dedicated to creating narrative content that celebrates the stories of women, women of color, and other underrepresented communities. Lowam is deeply committed to advancing narratives that not only uplift but also honor the uniquely individual stories that are often overlooked. Throughout her career, she has produced over ten projects, including two feature films written in collaboration with VKTRY.
