Jonas Petter Berggren, also known as Joker, is a Swedish musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer, born on March 21, 1967, in Gothenburg, Sweden. He is a founding member of the Swedish band Ace of Base, and has been writing songs since the age of seven.
Berggren's early life was marked by a cleft lip, which he underwent three surgeries to correct within his first year. He developed an interest in music at the age of 10, after his father taught him to play the guitar.
As a founding member of Ace of Base, Berggren has written all of the band's biggest hits, including "All That She Wants", "The Sign", and "Beautiful Life". He is also a skilled guitarist and keyboard player. Berggren owns his own recording studio, The Barn, and has worked with various artists, including DJ Bobo, Army of Lovers, E-Type, and Meja.
In addition to his work with Ace of Base, Berggren has also produced and composed music for other artists. He worked on the album Pride by Swedish pop group Yaki-Da in 1995.
Berggren met his wife, Norwegian hairdresser Birthe Haugland, on a cruise in Norway in the summer of 1996. They were married on July 12, 2000, and have four children together: Julia, born in 1999, Gabriel, born in 2001, Amanda, born in 2006, and Molly, born in 2008.
