Jason, a multifaceted film director and documentarian, resides in the vibrant neighborhood of Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, where he draws inspiration from his extensive collection of expired Fuji 125T film and the companionship of his feline friend, Miles Davis. As he continues to cultivate his creative endeavors, Jason is currently refining a slate of long-form narrative projects.
Throughout his illustrious career, Jason has honed his editing skills, having worked on four feature documentaries, including the Netflix original film "A Kid from Coney Island" and the PBS documentary "Down a Dark Stairwell", which sheds light on the tragic police murder of Akai Gurley. His upcoming documentary, "Jeen-yuhs", a comprehensive exploration of Kanye West's life and career, is also set to be released on Netflix. Moreover, Jason has recently completed editing a docuseries based on the book "How Music Got Free", which is now available on AppleTV+.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Jason dedicates his spare time to sharing his passion for cinematography with the next generation. As a faculty member at the cinema arts non-profit Mono No Aware, Jason teaches the art of 16mm and 35mm filmmaking to aspiring artists.
