Jane Murfin was a renowned American playwright and screenwriter, born on October 27, 1884, who left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment. Throughout her illustrious career, she penned a plethora of successful plays, many of which were co-authored with the talented actress Jane Cowl. One of her most notable works was the sentimental fantasy play "Smilin' Through", which premiered in 1919 and was subsequently adapted for the big screen on no fewer than three occasions.
