Seth Parker, a kind-hearted man, takes in Robbie Turner, a young boy being mistreated by his father Rufe. When Rufe vanishes, Seth decides to raise Robbie as his own son. However, Rufe returns, fueled by revenge, and attacks Mary Lucy, a neighbor's daughter who is also helping Robbie. David, Mary's boyfriend, comes to her rescue, but Rufe eventually abandons his son once again.
