Elliott Hasler, a prodigious film director, has made a remarkable mark on the UK's cinematic scene, achieving an astonishing feat by completing his debut feature film, "Charlie's Letters", at the tender age of 16, after a meticulous three-year production process.
This accomplished young filmmaker's inaugural feature premiered at the esteemed Edinburgh and Brighton Festivals, garnering widespread critical acclaim and praise from critics, who hailed "Charlie's Letters" as a "miracle". Renowned film critic Graham Fuller of Culture Trip went as far as to predict that Hasler would follow in the footsteps of cinematic legends, labeling him "the next Spielberg".
Following the resounding success of his debut feature, Hasler continued to hone his craft by creating a series of captivating short films. One of his notable works is "To Hunt a Tiger", a cinematic masterpiece that boasts an impressive cast, including the talented John Locke, known for his roles in "Darkest Hour" and "The Favourite". Shot on location in Sri Lanka, this visually stunning film draws inspiration from the classic "The Bridge on the River Kwai" by Sir David Lean. Furthermore, the film features an original score composed by the esteemed Daniel Clive McCallum, a recipient of the prestigious Emmy Award. "To Hunt a Tiger" premiered at the luxurious Soneva Jani, a top-rated resort in the Maldives.
Currently, Hasler is in the midst of filming his second feature, "Vindication Swim", a powerful and inspiring true story about the first English woman to conquer the challenging feat of swimming the English Channel.
