Bradley Liew is a multifaceted Malaysian-born, Philippines-based filmmaker who has made a significant impact in the film industry, excelling as a Director, Producer, and Cinematographer in both Malaysia and the Philippines. His exceptional talent and dedication have earned him recognition and accolades, including being accepted into the prestigious Asian Film Academy of the Busan International Film Festival in 2012, where he received the Lumos Award for Outstanding Performance from renowned Chinese filmmaker Jia Zhangke.
Throughout his career, Bradley has honed his skills by attending various esteemed film programs and workshops. He is an alumnus of the NAFF Fantastic Film School, Berlinale Talents, Tokyo Talents, Locarno Filmmakers Academy, Eave Ties that Bind, and the Sam Spiegel International Film Lab, further solidifying his reputation as a talented and ambitious filmmaker.
In 2016, Bradley completed his first feature film, a Malaysia-Philippines coproduction titled Singing in Graveyards, which received widespread recognition and support. The film was awarded the Visions Sud Est Production Support Fund, the Southeast Asian Film Lab Most Promising Project Award, and the Talents Tokyo Next Masters Support Program International Promotion Fund, all under the guidance of Producer Bianca Balbuena.
Singing in Graveyards made its world premiere at the 2016 Venice International Film Critics' Week, competing with other outstanding films. The film went on to participate in numerous prestigious film festivals, including Thessaloniki, Mostra Sao Paulo, Busan, Hawaii, Minsk, and Singapore, and won several awards, including Best Film in both Kolkata and Malaysia.
