Jack Alvin "Alvy" Moore was an American light comic actor, born on December 5, 1921, and passed away on May 4, 1997. He is best known for his role as Hank Kimball, the scatterbrained county agricultural agent, on the CBS television series Green Acres.
Moore's character, Hank Kimball, was infamous for making statements that were often negated by himself, creating a never-ending stream of contradictions. This comedic style was showcased in many episodes of Green Acres, where his character would make a statement, only to immediately correct it, and then correct the correction, often leaving his co-star Oliver Wendell Douglas, played by Eddie Albert, frustrated.
Before his role on Green Acres, Moore attended the Pasadena Playhouse, where he honed his acting skills and took on the role of Ensign Pulver opposite Henry Fonda's Mister Roberts on Broadway. He later toured with the play for 14 months. Moore made his screen debut in the 1952 film Okinawa, playing the role of a quartermaster.
Throughout his career, Moore appeared in numerous films and television shows, including "My Little Margie," The Mickey Mouse Club, The Wild One, The War of the Worlds, Susan Slept Here, 5 Against the House, Pete and Gladys, Death Valley Days, Perry Mason, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show, Little House on the Prairie, and Frasier.
In the 1980s, Moore appeared in several cult horror films, including Scream, Mortuary, They're Playing With Fire, Intruder, and The Horror Show.
