Space: 1999 background

Space: 1999

The Moon is torn from its orbit and hurtles into deep space, leaving the crew of Moonbase Alpha to fight for survival.

Moonbase Alpha, a scientific research colony on the Moon's far side, is suddenly displaced from Earth's orbit when magnetic energy triggers an explosion of atomic waste. The inhabitants are forced to survive on their wandering Moon as it is pulled into unknown space by freak space warps. They are joined by an alien woman with the ability to transform into any living creature.
