A group of soldiers are killed by a band of Indians, led by Nanches. The survivors are captured by Sergeant Hook, who takes them and their leader prisoner. Among the captives is Nanches' son and the boy's white mother, who was taken by the Indians nine years earlier. Hook is tasked with escorting the mother and son to the mother's husband, but their journey is fraught with danger when Nanches and his warriors escape and pursue them.

Apache chief Nanchez, captured by the cavalry, is forced to part with his white lover and infant son. However, he escapes and sets out to reclaim his family.
