The Fighter background

The Fighter

A gritty tale unfolds in Mexico, where a determined young boxer, driven by a quest for justice, uses his hard-earned prize money to acquire weapons and embark on a ruthless crusade to avenge the brutal murder of his loved ones.

During the Mexican Revolution, a young man named Felipe escapes the destruction of his village and flees to the United States. He finds work as a prize-fighter and helps fund the Mexican rebels' cause by sending money from his winnings to a printing shop that produces propaganda. When Felipe learns that the rebel leader Durango has been captured, he devises a plan to rescue him from prison. After Durango's release, Felipe learns that weapons are more crucial to the revolution than propaganda, so he sets out to raise the funds to buy rifles from the U.S. Army.
