Three doctors, Trevor, Bracken, and Phillips, embark on a mission to Africa to find a cure for infantile paralysis, accompanied by Trevor's wife and son Jan. Upon discovering the formula, Trevor's colleagues conspire to steal it, leading him to hide half the formula on his son's wrist. Tragedy strikes when Jan's mother is killed protecting him from a lion, and the boy is left alone in the jungle with his chimpanzee companion. Fifteen years later, Bracken and Phillips return, searching for Jan, now a young man, who has been raised by the jungle animals.
