A group of criminals, including Mooney and Tony Rocco, are transporting narcotics in a sedan when they are pursued by a California motorcycle cop. The cop is killed in a crash, and Johnny, Tony's son, is shocked by the murder. As the gang tries to keep Johnny quiet, he becomes aware of the danger he's in and seeks help from Father Regen and Lois Mayfield, his teacher. Meanwhile, Inspector Garron investigates the murder and becomes suspicious of Tony Rocco. When Johnny's father is shot by Mooney, Johnny reveals that it was Mooney who was responsible for the cop's death, not his father. In the end, Johnny is taken care of by Father Regen and Lois, and hopes his father will recover and have a chance at a better life.
