A young woman, wrongly accused of a crime, is sentenced to five years in prison, where she endures harsh conditions. With the help of the warden, she embarks on a quest to clear her name.

A pregnant woman is sentenced to five years in prison, with a looming deadline to surrender her newborn child. As the child approaches age three, the mother's desperation grows as she searches for a solution. Despite the prison doctor's efforts to help, the warden's disapproval of children in prison creates a sense of urgency. When the mother's parole is denied and her child is taken away without a goodbye, the women in the prison stage a riot.
