Hoppy is hired by Editor Saunders to investigate the murder of a miner, whose claim is owned by Lilli Marsh. As the new Marshal, Hoppy discovers that Lilli's henchman, Blackie, is the killer, and sets out to take down his gang and face Lilli alone.
