Red Ryder is hired by the Duchess to investigate a series of stagecoach robberies and driver killings. However, Ernest Murphy, a businessman, and his gang, including the whistling Chopin, intercept the letter and hire the Idaho Kid to stop Red. Red outsmarts the Idaho Kid and joins the gang, but Murphy soon discovers his true identity and frames him for stealing an ore shipment. With the help of Little Beaver, Red escapes and sets out to track down the gang.

Red Ryder is hired by The Duchess to help catch a gang of outlaws, led by a crooked businessman, who have been regularly robbing Colonel Parker's stagecoaches.
