The women of Troy, including Hecuba, face a dire future as their city lies in ruins and their cause is lost. The Greeks have taken control, and the women are about to be distributed among the victorious soldiers. Cassandra, Hecuba's daughter, has been chosen for the bedchamber of a Greek king, but she has vowed to remain a virgin and is hiding to keep her oath. When she is found, she laments the harsh treatment by the Greeks.
