Geneviève Bujold is a renowned Canadian stage and screen actress, born on July 1, 1942. She is best known for her iconic portrayal of Anne Boleyn in the 1969 film Anne of the Thousand Days, which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and an Academy Award nomination.
Bujold's early career began with her TV debut in the 1963 film Le square, a 60-minute TV film based on a play by Marguerite Duras, co-starring Georges Groulx. Her Canadian feature film debut was in Amanita Pestilens (1963). She then appeared in Michel Brault's film Between Salt and Sweet Water (1967),followed by a production of Saint Joan (1967) for Hallmark Hall of Fame on American TV, which received great acclaim and an Emmy nomination.
