Yagna Shetty's journey in the world of acting began in 2007 with her debut in the Kannada movie Ondu Preethiya Kathe, a remarkable feat considering she wasn't entirely fluent in the language. Despite this, she managed to impress the audience and critics alike, earning the reputation of a promising debutante.
In 2009, she appeared in two movies, Eddelu Manjunatha and Love Guru, both of which received widespread critical acclaim. Her performance in Eddelu Manjunatha earned her a Filmfare Special Award - South, while she went on to win a Filmfare Award -Kannada for Best Supporting Actress for Love Guru.
Yagna's subsequent films included Sugreeva, Kalla Malla Sulla, and Ulidavaru Kandanthe. She then ventured into television, starring in the socio-drama Vaarasdaara, which tackles the pressing issue of female infanticide, in 2016.
The same year, she played the role of Muthulakshmi, Veerappan's wife, in Killing Veerappan, and portrayed the titular role in Ramabai, a biographical drama that revolves around the life of B. R. Ambedkar's first wife.
In 2017, Yagna shared the screen with G Kishore Kumar and Tarun Shatriya in the period action drama Kalathur Gramam. Her 2018 release includes Operation 2019.
