Gertrude Madeline "Trudy" Marshall, an American actress and model, was a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. As a cigarette girl for Harry Conover, she was known by various titles, including "The Old Gold Girl", "The Chesterfield Girl", and "The Lucky Strike Girl", solidifying her status as a popular model.
In 1942, Marshall was signed by 20th Century-Fox and began her acting career, initially taking on bit parts before being groomed for more substantial roles. Her breakout performance came in the World War II war drama The Fighting Sullivans, where she played the role of Genevieve, the surviving sister of a family that lost all five of its sons in the sinking of the USS Juneau off Guadalcanal in November 1942.
Marshall's career trajectory saw her take on various roles, initially playing the part of a decorative ingenue before transitioning to playing the "other woman" in a few features. By the 1960s, she had semi-retired from Hollywood, only to return infrequently for select projects. One notable exception was her appearance in the movie Once Is Not Enough alongside her daughter Deborah Raffin.
