Tanroh Ishida, a renowned London-based Japanese actor, boasts an impressive dual background in both classical Western theatre and traditional Japanese theatre.
From a tender age of three, Tanroh embarked on a rigorous training in Japanese Traditional Noh/Kyogen Theatre, with his father and father's master serving as his esteemed mentors. This early immersion allowed him to hone his craft within the esteemed tradition of Japanese theatre.
As he matured, Tanroh's curiosity about Western theatre grew, prompting him to relocate to England at the age of 15 to pursue further education and audition for prestigious drama schools. His perseverance paid off, as he secured a coveted spot at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Upon graduating from Guildhall, Tanroh went on to establish his own theatre company, Tea Leaf Theatre, which has become a hub for exploring the unique fusion of Eastern and Western theatrical traditions.
