As she ventured into the entertainment industry, Karasuma found herself employed by the reputable From First Production talent agency. Her professional journey began in 1980 when she landed a coveted role as a Clarion Girl, swiftly transitioning into the world of gravure idols.
Karasuma's breakthrough in film acting arrived when she secured the lead role in the 1980 adaptation of Hiroyuki Itsuki's novel, Four Seasons・Natsuko, marking the beginning of a successful cinematic career.
