Sergio Salvati, a renowned Italian cinematographer, embarked on his illustrious career in the world of film, with his roots tracing back to his father, Aldofo Salvati, a pioneering key grip in the early days of Italian cinema. Through his father's extensive network of contacts, Sergio gained valuable experience developing negatives in a small yet prestigious photographic laboratory in Rome, laying the foundation for his future success.
In 1956, Sergio's father was collaborating with the esteemed Enzo Serafin, who subsequently invited Sergio to join him as a camera assistant on the iconic film, Raw Wind in Eden, starring the captivating Esther Williams and the talented Jeff Chandler. This pivotal opportunity marked the beginning of Sergio's involvement in many other notable films shot in Italy, encompassing both cult classics and commercially successful cinema.
