Serge Avédikian, a multitalented individual, was born on December 1, 1955, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR. His parents, who were born in France, were the children of Armenian genocide survivors. Influenced by the propaganda of Joseph Stalin and Maurice Thorez, they returned to France in 1947, where Avédikian attended the French school in Yerevan.
At the age of fifteen, Avédikian, along with his family, returned to France, where he had his stage debut in college, performing in his professor's amateur theater company. He then pursued his education at the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Meudon, France.
In 1971, Avédikian arrived in Paris, where he collaborated with students from the Paris Conservatory. In 1976, he established his own theater company and produced several plays, while also pursuing a career as a theater, movie, and television actor.
In 1988, Avédikian founded his own production company, continuing to direct films. Throughout his career, he has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Cannes Festival prize.
