Samuel Jason Fell, a British animator, director, screenwriter, and voice actor, was born on November 22, 1965.
Starting his career as a director, Fell worked on the short film The Big Cheese for 3 Peach Animation, before joining Aardman Animations, where he contributed to projects such as Pop, Wat's Pig, and Rex the Runt, and directed Chump in 2002. He also developed the children's TV series Rabbits!.
In 2001, Fell conceived the story of Flushed Away, which he developed through 2002, and in 2003, he co-directed the film with David Bowers for Aardman, providing the voices for Liam, The Prophet, Ladykiller, and Fanseller.
Fell's subsequent work includes directing The Tale of Despereaux for Universal Studios, starting in 2008, and providing the voices for Ned and Smudge. He co-directed ParaNorman, with Chris Butler, for Laika, which was released in the United States in August 2012.
