Pramod Kumar KP, affectionately known as Pramod Veliyanad, was born in 1978 in Kuttanad Veliyanad, Alappuzha district, to KK Prakash and Vijayamma. He completed his education at Veliyanad LP School, Perunna NSS School, and Changanassery NSS College, where he discovered his passion for art and drama.
Pramod's journey in theater began at a young age, and he has been active in the field for 24 years. He started his career under the guidance of Cochin Nayana, with his first role in the play "Oramma Peta Makkal." Abhayan Kalavarur played a significant role in mentoring Pramod in the world of drama.
Throughout his career, Pramod has been associated with various theater troupes, including Thiruvananthapuram Ananthapuri, Chirainkeesh Anugara, Rajan P Dev's Cherthala Jubilee, Changanassery Aniyara, Pala Communications, Thiruvananthapuram Souparnika, Thilakan's Samiti Ambalapuzha Aksharajwala, and Kanjirapalli Amala.
Pramod's talent and dedication have earned him numerous accolades, including the State Government Award for Best Comedian in 2007 for his performance in "Rastriya Paatava" and again in 2009 for "Kadulam Kanivenna." He has also made a mark on the internet through the first web series in Kerala, "Navani," directed by Abhilash Sreedharan, which garnered significant attention.
In addition to his theater work, Pramod has acted in about 45 short films, which paved the way for his entry into cinema. One of his notable short films, "Arpo," won the National Award for Best Actor.
Pramod's journey in cinema began with small roles in films like "Patchuvum Gopalanum," written and directed by Taha, and "Swarnakaduava," directed by Jose Thomas. He has acted in around 15 films, with a notable role in "Swarnakaduava."
Pramod's personal life is marked by his loving family, including his mother, wife Prajita, a preschool teacher, and their only son, Pravi Karthik. He prefers to be known by his place of birth, Veliyanad, and is widely recognized as Pramod Veliyanad in the theater world.
