Petter Amundsen is a renowned Norwegian organist, currently residing in Holmenkollen Chapel, Oslo, Norway, where he has been diligently serving the community since 2002. However, his expertise extends far beyond the realm of music, as he has made groundbreaking discoveries in the field of cryptography. Since 2002, Amundsen has successfully decrypted numerous steganographic ciphers believed to be hidden in first editions of William Shakespeare and Sir Francis Bacon's books.
In 2003, Amundsen embarked on an extraordinary adventure, excavating two sites on the legendary Treasure Island, Oak Island, located in Nova Scotia, Canada. His remarkable findings garnered significant media attention and amazed the local community, including landowner Dan Blankenship. The culmination of years of meticulous research has resulted in a plethora of publications, television series, and a full-feature documentary film.
In January 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine published a feature story on Oak Island, "The Curse of Oak Island," which highlighted Amundsen's theory on Shakespeare and Oak Island. Later, in the winter of 2006, Amundsen collaborated with celebrated author Erlend Loe to co-write "Organisten" ("The Organist"),a comprehensive account of the discovery, which was published in eight countries.
In December 2009, a four-episode television series, "Shakespeares skjulte koder" ("Shakespeare: The Hidden Codes"),aired on Norwegian National Television NRK1. Amundsen's second book, "Oak Island & The Treasure Map in Shakespeare," an updated and compact version of his discoveries, was published in March 2012. Additionally, a full-feature documentary, "Shakespeare: The Hidden Truth," was released in Norwegian cinemas in April 2012.
