Peter Mettler, a Swiss-Canadian filmmaker and cinematographer, was born on September 7, 1958.
As a documentary filmmaker, Mettler is particularly renowned for his distinctive, instinctive approach, which is exemplified in his notable works such as Picture of Light (1994),Gambling, Gods and LSD (2002),and The End of Time (2012).
In addition to his work as a director, Mettler has also contributed his cinematographic skills to various films by prominent directors, including Atom Egoyan, Patricia Rozema, Bruce McDonald, and Jennifer Baichwal.
