Panos H. Koutras, a multifaceted Greek film director, producer, and screenwriter, emerged onto the scene with his debut feature film, The Attack of the Giant Moussaka, in 1999. This independent science-fiction parody, which cleverly spoofed the genre, garnered international recognition in France and Japan, solidifying its status as a cult classic.
Throughout his illustrious career, Koutras has helmed, produced, and penned three additional films, each showcasing his versatility and talent. Real Life, a French-Greek co-production, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival's Contemporary World Cinema section in 2004.
Strella, his 2009 effort, was selected for the Panorama program at the Berlin International Film Festival, further cementing his reputation as a skilled storyteller. Xenia, released in 2014, made its presence felt at the Un Certain Regard section of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Most recently, Koutras has been working on his latest project, Dodo, a Greek-French-Belgian co-production set to make its world premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in 2022.
