Eva Marie Engberg, professionally known as Mia Engberg, is a Swedish filmmaker with a multifaceted career spanning direction, screenwriting, and production. Born on September 26, 1970, in Stockholm, Sweden, Engberg's passion for the film industry began to take shape with her education at the Dramatic Institute from 1994 to 1997.

Engberg's impressive portfolio includes her half-hour-long documentary, The Stars We Are, which received a Guldbagge nomination in the Best Short Film category in 1998. Her innovative work continued with the rewritten short films Dirty Diaries in 2009, which showcased her skills as an initiator and producer.

In 2013, Engberg's "autodokumentär" Belleville Baby earned her the documentary film award at the Tempo Documentary Festival, where she also received the prestigious Konstnärsnämndens Mai Zetterling scholarship. The film's success continued to unfold as it was named Best Documentary at the Guldbaggegalan in 2014.

Since autumn 2014, Engberg has taken on a new challenge, pursuing her doctoral studies in media at Stockholm's artistic college. This development further solidifies her position as a prominent figure in the Swedish film industry.
