Mert Yazıcıoğlu was born on May 10, 1993, in the vibrant city of Istanbul, Turkey. Following his primary, middle, and high school education in his hometown, he enrolled in the prestigious Business Administration Department of Istanbul Aydın University. However, during his studies, he developed a passion for acting and decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He began taking acting classes and eventually left his business studies halfway through to focus on his newfound passion.
Mert's initial foray into acting came when he visited the set of a TV series where a friend was acting. This experience sparked his interest, and he soon appeared in a brief scene in the film "Dedemin İnsanları." He then began appearing on screens with the series "Kayıp Şehir" while simultaneously receiving acting training. Initially, he joined Cast 33 agency founded by the renowned Sumru Onat and later met Ümit Çırak, with whom he started taking acting lessons at the Mota Eğitim workshop.
From 2013 to 2016, Mert portrayed the character "Baran Şamverdi" in the popular series "Karagül," which aired on FOX. He then played the character "Fırat" in the series "Umuda Kelepçe Vurulmaz" and portrayed "Korkut" in the series "Mehmed: Bir Cihan Fatihi." In 2018, he appeared in the film "İyi Oyun" as the character "Cenk." From 2018 to 2019, he played the character "Mahir Yetkin" in the series "Bir Litre Gözyaşı," which aired on Kanal D. He also portrayed the character "Sinan" in the Netflix series "Aşk 101."
Since the end of 2023, Mert has been portraying the character "Cüneyd Güneş" in the series "Kızıl Goncalar."
