Maurizio Benazzo's journey began in Italy, where he first took root, only to be uprooted in 1984 when he embarked on an extraordinary adventure, crossing the Atlantic Ocean on the historic Leudo "Felice Manin", a 98-year-old Lateen sailboat, which carried him to the shores of the United States. As he settled into his new surroundings, he pursued a multifaceted career, donning various hats as an actor, model, and filmmaker, yet an insatiable thirst for knowledge gnawed at him, a hunger that remained unquenched until 2001, when he stumbled upon the seminal work "I Am That" by the revered Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, a serendipitous encounter that occurred while he was in India, capturing the essence of the award-winning documentary "Short Cut to Nirvana".
