Matthew Anoa'i is a renowned professional wrestler, celebrated for his extensive career on the independent circuit, where he utilized various ring names, and his time in the WWE, where he competed under the moniker Rosey.
As a protégé of his uncle, Afa Anoa'i, Anoa'i, along with his late cousin Eddie Fatu, received training at the prestigious Wild Samoan Training Facility. Following his tutelage, he commenced competing in Afa's World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW) promotion.
Anoa'i subsequently began competing in tag team competition, partnering with Samu as the Samoan Gangsta Party. The duo enjoyed a brief stint in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Throughout the mid-1990s, Anoa'i competed in various independent promotions, accumulating numerous tag team championships.
In 2001, Anoa'i inked a deal with the WWE and was assigned to Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA) in Cincinnati, Ohio. While situated at HWA, he was paired with Fatu in tag team competition, with the duo ultimately winning the HWA Tag Team Championship.
