Marjolène Morin, professionally known as Marjo, is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Quebec, born on August 2, 1953, in Montreal, Quebec. She initially worked as a model, editor for the fashion magazine Madame, and manager of the Montreal jazz club L'Air du temps, as well as appearing in two musicals by François Guy.
Marjo joined the band Corbeau in 1979, after which she cowrote and recorded the theme song "Touch Me" for the film A Woman in Transit, earning a Genie Award for Best Original Song in 1985.
Her debut album, Celle qui va, was released in 1986, selling over 250,000 copies and winning three Prix Félix. The album was certified double platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association. She toured Europe to promote the album, released under the title Amoureuse.
In 1988, Marjo appeared on Gerry Boulet's album Rendez-vous doux, as a duet vocalist on the song "Les Yeux du cœur". She released her next album, Tant qu'il y aura des enfants, in 1990, which included the hit singles "À bout de ciel" and "Je sais, je sais", and won four Prix Félix, including Best Rock Album and Best Song for "Je sais, je sais".
Marjo's subsequent albums include Bohémienne, Bootleg Blues, Sans retour, Turquoise, Marjo et ses hommes, Vol. 1, and Marjo et ses hommes, Vol. 2. The latter two albums featured songs from her career re-recorded as duets with various male vocalists.
In 2009 and 2010, she released Marjo et ses hommes, Vol. 1 and Marjo et ses hommes, Vol. 2, which included the original recording of "Les Yeux du cœur", previously unavailable on one of her albums.
