Mari Selvaraj is a multi-talented individual who has made a significant impact in the Tamil film industry as a director and screenwriter. His journey in the industry began in 2006, with a different career path in mind initially, as he had aspirations to become an actor. However, fate had other plans, and he eventually joined renowned director Ram, working as an assistant director on three notable films: Kattradhu Thamizh (2007),Thanga Meenkal (2013),and Taramani (2017).
This invaluable experience laid the foundation for his future endeavors, and in 2018, Selvaraj took the reins as a director for the first time, helming the critically acclaimed film Pariyerum Perumal. The film's success was a testament to his exceptional storytelling skills, and it went on to become one of the most successful films of the year.
Selvaraj's subsequent directorial venture, Karnan (2021),starring Dhanush, received widespread acclaim and performed exceptionally well at the box office.
