Juan Manuel Puig Delledonne was a renowned Argentine author, screenwriter, and actor, celebrated for his thought-provoking literary works.
Among his most iconic novels is "El beso de la mujer araña" (Kiss of the Spider Woman, 1976),a masterpiece that has been adapted into a film, directed by the esteemed Argentine-Brazilian filmmaker Héctor Babenco, and later into a Broadway musical in 1993.
Feeling disillusioned with the Perón regime in Argentina and seeking a life that mirrored the glamour of the movies, Puig Delledonne made the bold decision to leave his native country in the mid-1970s.
He subsequently resided in Mexico, New York, and Brazil, before eventually returning to Mexico, where he tragically passed away in 1990.
