Malik Akhlaqi was born in 1994 in Daikundi, Afghanistan, and his parents moved to Kabul in 2003. Growing up in Kabul, Malik's life took an unexpected turn when he met Afghan director Siddiq Barmak at the Pamir cinema. Barmak was impressed by Malik's acting skills and chose him to play the role of a child in his film Osama, marking Malik's acting debut at the tender age of nine.
Malik continued his education at the Esteghlal School in Kabul and went on to complete his primary education. He soon landed his second role in the film Earth and Ashes, directed by Atiq Rahimi, in late 2004. The following year, Malik starred in Zolykha's Secret, a film that chronicles the life of a poor Afghan family, directed by Horace Shansab.
In 2012, Malik appeared in the film "Patience Stone" directed by Atiq Rahimi, further solidifying his position as a talented young actor. Besides acting, Malik has a passion for music and has learned to play the guitar and harmonia with great skill. He respects traditional Afghan music and often performs in circles and celebrations.
After completing his education, Malik went on to study journalism at Kabul University. In 2019, he emigrated to Iran, where he has acted in several films directed by Iranian directors, all of which are about Afghanistan.
In 2020, Malik released two music albums, "Mahi-Gham" and "Mahi-Alam soz". The former, which narrates the sufferings of an immigrant, resonated with most Afghan immigrants, while the latter combines traditional Afghan music with traditional Iranian music, earning him a loyal fan base. Malik Akhlaqi has also released his music under the stage name Malikdelha.
