Madathil Thekkepauatt Vasudevan Nair, a renowned Indian author, screenplay writer, and film director, was born on August 9, 1933. This multifaceted personality is celebrated for his remarkable contributions to modern Malayalam literature, earning him the reputation of being one of the masters of post-Independence Indian literature.
Nair's birthplace was Kudallur, a small village within the present-day Palakkad district, which was previously part of the Malabar District in the Madras Presidency of the British Raj.
Throughout his illustrious career, Nair has been deeply involved in the Malayalam film industry, assuming various roles such as script writer, director, lyricist, and producer. His impressive body of work includes directing seven films and writing screenplays for approximately 54 films.
