Kais Setti was born in 1985 in Cologne, Germany. He is a Tunisian-German actor of Arab origin, whose family hails from Tunisia.
Setti's journey in the world of acting began when he attended the Theater School Aachen from 2005 to 2008. He then went on to complete his acting studies at the Academy of Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg from late 2008 to early 2013, under the guidance of acting director Luk Perceval.
During his training, Setti had the opportunity to work on numerous roles within the classical theater repertoire, while also honing his skills in film and television. One of his notable works during this period was the documentary trilogy "What are you living?" which won the Grimme Award in 2013.
Setti's first professional film appearance was in 2009, when he played the role of Otto, a high school student, in the film adaptation of the ZDF contemporary adaptation of the piece Spring Awakening, directed by Nuran David Çalış.
He has also appeared in smaller roles in films such as blame are always the others (2012) and 5 years of life (2013).
