Julyza's journey in the world of acting began in Newark, Delaware, where she was born, and it was at the tender age of seven that she first caught the acting bug, which would go on to shape her future. Her first foray into community theatre was a memorable one, as she was cast in the iconic production of Annie, playing the role of the orphan July with the Milford Second Street Players. This initial foray into the world of theatre was followed by a performance that would leave a lasting impression on her, as she was cast in the production of Stormy Weather: The Lena Horne Story at the esteemed Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia, a role that would mark a significant milestone in her career. In the years that followed, Julyza continued to hone her craft, taking on the role of Oliver in the classic family musical at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia in 2009. However, it was her television debut, guest starring on Law & Order SVU, that would be a particularly notable milestone in her career, as she played the poignant role of an African sex slave survivor, a performance that would stay with her forever.
