Jess Cagle, born on August 8, 1965, is a renowned and respected entertainment journalist in the United States. As the Editor-in-Chief of People magazine from 2014 to 2019, he successfully expanded the publication's audience to a massive 100 million across various platforms, including print, digital, and video.
Throughout his illustrious career spanning over three decades, Cagle has held numerous prominent positions within the entertainment industry. He began his journey at Time Inc. in 1987 as a reporter for People magazine, later helping to launch Entertainment Weekly in 1990.
From 2000 to 2002, Cagle served as a senior editor at Time, covering the entertainment industry. He then returned to People as an entertainment editor, where he would eventually go on to become the Editor of Entertainment Weekly from 2009 to 2014.
During his tenure at Entertainment Weekly, Cagle increased the publication's audience and presence in Hollywood, transformed EW.com into a 24/7 breaking news site, and launched the Entertainment Weekly Radio channel on SiriusXM, where he continues to make regular appearances.
