Jef Hellemans, born in 1999, pursued his passion for drama at the esteemed School of Arts / KASK Gent, where he earned his degree in 2022. During his time at the institution, he was part of the prestigious performance "Odysseus, een zwerver komt thuis," a collaborative effort between KVS & NTGent, directed by the renowned Michael De Cock. Hellemans' impressive resume also boasts performances with DESCHONECOMPANIE in "Le Nozze" and De Nwe Tijd & Het Paleis in "Familie grr." Moreover, he will be presenting his graduation performance "Pinokkio" at Theater Aan Zee in 2022, a project he co-created with Jonas Baeke.
In addition to his stage presence, Hellemans has also made a mark on the small screen. In 2018, he took on a leading role in the TV drama "Over water," a series crafted by Tom Lenaerts and Norman Bates. His television career continued to flourish in 2021 with an appearance in the English TV series "The Window." Looking ahead to 2023, Hellemans is set to star in the Netflix and VRT series "Knokke-Off" and will be taking on a leading role in the film adaptation of Tom Lanoye's book, "Kartonnen Dozen."
