Jay Brannan, a multifaceted American creative, hails from Texas but has made New York City his home, where he has been crafting and sharing his poignant and humorous folk music with global audiences since 2006.
As an actor, Brannan has made a notable appearance in John Cameron Mitchell's critically acclaimed indie film "Shortbus", in which his original song "Soda Shop" was the most popular track on the film's soundtrack album, released by Team Love Records, a label founded by Bright Eyes.
In addition to his work in "Shortbus", Brannan has also had roles in other films, including "Holding Trevor" (2007),where he played the character Jake, and "Kiss of the Damned" (2012),where he portrayed Hans.
