Jake Norton is a renowned professional keynote speaker, seasoned mountain guide, and talented photographer hailing from Golden, Colorado. His remarkable career has taken him on countless adventures across the globe, catering to a diverse range of clients.
Throughout his illustrious climbing and photographic career, Jake has scaled the summit of Mount Everest an impressive three times, out of a total of six expeditions. He has also embarked on five expeditions to the Peruvian Andes, conquered the continental highpoints of Mount McKinley in Alaska, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and Aconcagua in Argentina, and has reached the summit of Mount Rainier in Washington a staggering eighty-eight times.
In 2004, Jake recreated Sir Ernest Shackleton's famous 1917 traverse of South Georgia Island alongside a group of adventurers from Geographic Expeditions.
As a photographer, Jake has worked with a plethora of esteemed clients, including The Discovery Channel, Outdoor Life Network, Outside Magazine, Toyota, Ford Motor Company, National Geographic Adventure, Men's Journal, and numerous other national and international publications. His assignments have taken him to Nepal, Tibet, South Africa, Costa Rica, and Iceland, among other destinations.
In addition to his photography work, Jake has also served as a videographer on Everest in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Furthermore, he is an athlete and photographer for the First Ascent line of technical outerwear by Eddie Bauer, and serves as Director of the American Mountaineering Museum in Golden, Colorado. He is also a member of the International Advisory Council for The Mountain Institute.
