Jacob James Estrada, professionally known as Jake Estrada, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Nilda Estrada and Santiago "Chago" Estrada, a Puerto Rican immigrant who arrived in the United States in 1952 and worked as a professional roofer until his passing.
Jake's mother, recognizing her son's passion for performance and art, enrolled him at a young age in the Lighthouse, a local Philadelphia center for young kids to create art and theater productions.
Tragedy struck when Jake was just 12 years old, following the senseless murder of his cousin due to a hate crime. This devastating event led to his family's relocation to South Jersey, where Jake eventually graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1996.
Since 2005, Jake has worked professionally as an underground comic book artist, publishing his first comic book series, Bocas, which tells the story of a Puerto Rican vigilante. He relocated to Central Florida in 2006 and has since published over 70 comics in the underground comic book scene.
In addition to his comic book work, Jake is the publisher of a local Central Florida magazine, Space Coast Comixx, and has been featured in various other publications, including Spotlight Magazine and Al Dia Today!
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Jake is also a life coach who believes in sharing his experiences with youth and using art as a means of healing and empowerment. He has worked with young people from rough neighborhoods, using his own story to inspire and motivate them.
Jake's acting career began with a special appearance as the Cereal Killer in the local production Fatman TV, where he played a masked wrestler seeking to eliminate the hero Fatman, who protects Brevard County, Florida. Jake enjoyed the experience so much that he began seeking out other acting opportunities.
He is also known for creating the popular comic book series Bocas and Zoomed.
